Americano

$800.00

The Americano was created in Italy during WWII when American soldiers wanted drip coffee, so cafes in Italy diluted Espresso with hot water to create a more acidic substitute. When my husband and I went to Bulgaria this most recent time, we ran into the same issue. Connor wanted coffee and all they could make was espresso. A few days into our trip we remembered that Americanos were a thing. I made this piece to remember all of the little coffee shops we went to. One of Connor‘s favorite things about Bulgarian coffee shops were the little fortunes (късмети) that they included in with each coffee. Since they were all in Bulgarian, Connor got to practice reading the Cyrillic alphabet in both upper and lower case letters.
