Plovdiv’s Crown Jewel

$2,600.00

In Plovdiv, one of the most scenic views in ‘the old town’ is this Eastern Orthodox temple is standing still watching over the city. It’s at the top of the hill so you really have to work for the view. The streets on the way up to the church are made from the original stone bricks dating back to the Roman Empire. All the way up to the top of the hill you see the fingerprint every passing culture has made on the oldest continuously inhabited city in Europe. My favorite juxtaposition is the Turkish Architecture next to the Brutalist artwork, next to the Roman ruins. The whole city is a work of art.
