The following two paintings are of traditional northern Slavic folk wear. I wanted to honor the Slavic cultures that were not in the Balkans because there are so many distinct shapes and colors that don’t appear in the traditional clothing of the Balkan Regions. Just like our cloths, our cultures share many similarities - but we have our own individual struggles too. Different wars and different occupations. I choose to embrace what makes us united and celebrate what makes us different.
