One of my favorite childhood memories is going to Vidin Bulgaria to visit my great grandparents. Vidin is a small town in Northern Bulgaria right by the Danube river bordering Romania. Right by my grandparent’s house were a bunch of peach and pear trees. I can remember us making compote outside in the summer as we ate sweet fresh fruits from the trees. I haven’t been back to Vidin for many years. I wonder if those trees are still there..
